The upper part of the wall is plastered, and the lower one is covered with a lining. The use of two types of materials allows for a better combination of individual accents. In the event of renovation, you can even opt out of removing the old wall covering. The wall is usually covered with one type of material, np. wallpaper, panels, with plaster or wood. Meanwhile, the wall can also be divided into two parts, to create a friendly and warm atmosphere. Our advice: the plinth looks better, when it is slightly forward. Two color-matched types of material, np. the upper part of the wall is covered with plaster or wallpaper, and the lower one with wood, or panels, enhancing the visual effect. The panels were attached here to thick battens 2 cm. The height of the plinth is approx. 2/3 wall height. Panels with a formed tongue allow for quick installation using staples.
If we want to install panels only for a certain period of time, then you can use clamps to attach them, which facilitate later disassembly. Caution: they may not be panel clamps, but for profiled boards.
Hidden speakers
The speakers were hidden in furniture cabinets. In this way, they do not disturb the simple and functional furnishings, and at the same time guarantee good sound reception.
Music and multimedia equipment takes up a lot of space in the living room. It often happens. that it is located randomly – for lack of space – the loudspeakers distort the overall picture of the room. Meanwhile, there are already furniture systems with integrated speakers. Here, the speakers were placed in a furniture shelf and masked with an aesthetic cover. The interior of the shelf also serves as a soundboard. Another suggestion: modern, flat speakers hang on the wall disguised as a modern painting.
Latest, the flat shapes of the speakers can also be used in other ways, np. as an inclined shelf or even as a free-standing object, supported on a stand, made of backlit frosted glass.
